Michael Champion - injuries have prevented him from fulfilling his potential but the 2000 season gave a taste of just what he is capable of as he ran a new best of 21.12 for 200. He was also a member of the 4x100 teams who set and equalled the Club Record of 41.0. Michael came into athletics as a high jumper and only moved to sprinting after filling in at the 200 for a point in a Junior League match.
Anne Cilia - (10/4/59) Anne is a regular competitor over the country with appearances in the County and Southern Championships as well as all the mob matches. She has also competed for the veterans team on the track and is a member of the Committee. A vice president, she is daughter the late Peter Stenning a former President of the Club.
Giles Clifford - (3/8/63) Giles joined the Club when his main event was the 800 metres. His best is 1.51.6 but he has blossomed into an important member of the Clubs middle distance squad. He was one of the team who won the Southern Cross Country title in 2000; and has as represented the Club in the National, and the Southern and National road relay teams. His main event on the track currently is the steeplechase where he has scored many valuable points for the team.
Mark Colpus - (8/8/64) There's only one Mark Colpus or Codpiece as he is known to many. Progressing from being a promising junior he developed into one of the Clubs top cross country and road runners in the 90s and was a member of the Blackheath team who won the National Senior Cross Country for the first time in 1994. A Club Vice President. PB 10,000 30.23.6.
Steve Cooper - (8/10/72) an ever present for the British League team in the summer 2000 season. Although his main event is the 800, he featured in either or both the 400 and the 4x400. His talents are not confined to the track and he also runs on the road and country for the Club.
Jim Day - (18/8/33) At 67 Jim continues his astonishing athletic career in the pole vault. As well as picking up medals in the veterans ranks at National level, he is still a regular in the Senior Mens C Team in the Southern League. He even competed for the British League Division One team at the age of 61! A former President of the Club.
Tim Dickinson - Tim has spent the last couple of years injured but when fit is a key member of the Senior mens cross country and road running teams. He won the Southern Cross country title in 1996 and has represented Great Britain. He was part of the Blackheath team who won the National cross country and 12 stage titles in 1995.
Anthony Draper - a Club member for 14 years, from under 13 to senior, and although he still runs road and cross country, his prime interest is track where he set a new best at 800 in the 2000 season of 1.48.78. He would surely have gone faster had he not been hit by a mystery virus. National Ranking 2000, 14th 800 - 1.48.78
