Below are brief details of some of the Club's top athletes. Only the Seniors and Juniors have been included at present. Apologies to anyone who is not featured who thinks they should be. Let us know and we can put you on.

Spencer Newport - A Blackheath Vice President and key member of the Clubs track, cross country and road relay teams. Has the following bests, 800 - 1.52.3, 1500 - 3.43.46, 3000 - 8.00.3, 5000 - 13.49.7, 10000 - 29.23, 3000 steeplechase 8.40.87, marathon 2.23.27. Unfortunately Spencer has been injured this year but once he has had a knee operation expects to be back to his best.
Karyn O'Mahoney - (4/4/73) Middle distance runner who has also run 63.31 for 400 hurdles. Karyn has been a regular in the Senior Women's team in the summer 2000 competing in a variety of events. Already been in action this winter on the country where she is showing good form. Coached by David Liston
Richard Parrott - (22/3/66) Another of the Clubs middle distance squad who was part of the Blackheath team who took gold medals in the 1999 Southern 12 Stage Road Relay. Richard has represented the Club over the road, country and track since moving into the Area from Grimsby four years ago.
Ray Perkins - (29/3/85) Another member of the talented middle distance squad coached by David Liston, Ray is reaping the rewards for some consistent training and is one of the Clubs top under 17 runners leading the squad home on a number of occasions this winter.
Katy Porter - Katy has made a big impression both on and off the track. A talented sprint hurdler and former English schools international, she has also been contracted to co-host the CITV Energize programme. She has also been the co-team manager, with her mum, of the Clubs Junior Women's team. Injury has prevented her from fulfilling her potential this summer.
Kate Mackieth Pratten - (28/02/75) Kate is a northern girl who moved south to the glittering lights of London and found herself deep in the midst of Blackheath Harriers instead. Kate joined the club in autumn of 01 and after 1 1/2 years of training hard is now achieving some good results. Kate has had an excellent cross country season so far and is on target to run some PBs this year.

Mark Purser - (18/4/72) 400 hurdler with a best of 52.26, Mark competed in all four of the British League matches in the 2000 season, but missed out on the Cup Final because wife Sam was about to give birth to daughter Kate. What Mark lacks in height, he makes up for with a fluent hurdling technique that has allowed him to clock some useful times over the sprint hurdles. Has also helped put together Southern League teams.
Andrew Rayner - (16/1/82) Andrew is the current Club junior cross country champion having won on a wet and muddy course at Hayes. Giving up Saturday work should enable him to feature in all the Club's junior teams this winter, but Andrew is no stranger to senior competition having run in the 12 Stage Road Relays.
Tom Robinson - (14/6/85) Tom has proved himself an invaluable member of the under 17 and under 20 track and field teams. A 3.20 pole vaulter, he is also a 100 and 400 hurdler. Tom is the current Kent 400m hurdles champion  at U17. In addition he is a useful cross country runner and has already run in the Parkwood League this winter. Another Club member who attends Langley Park school for Boys. Tom is also a talented musician.
Mohammed Sillah-Freckleton - has spent most of the 2000 season injured. Otherwise he would be featuring in the 110 hurdle rankings having run 14.6 last season. Also a 2 metre high jumper.
Samantha Singer - Another former English schools international who still has two more years left in the junior women's age group. Has already broken the Club senior 400 record with 55.31 She has run 2.12.50 for 800, the Club under 17s record.
Michael Skinner - Another athlete who has progressed from under 13 through to the Senior first team at track, road and cross country. Michael is the current Kent Junior Cross Country Champion but has also run 1.50.79 for 800 and 3.46.72 for 1500. An ardent Chelsea fan which means he sometimes has to miss athletics matches.
Roy Smith - (5/10/62) A stalwart of the Clubs middle distance squad in recent years Roy joined a select group of Heathens last winter when did the "triple", winning the Club 5, 7.5 and 10 mile championships in the course of the same season. A member of the Clubs winning team in the year 2000 Southern Cross Country Championships.
Mark Steinle - Check the uk:athletics web site.  Britain's first finisher at this years London Marathon where he secured Olympic Selection with his Club record breaking time of 2.11.18. Mark is the country's number one over the half marathon distance finishing as first Briton at the World Championships and timing 62.23 at the Great North Run. His talents don't just lie on the road. He won the Southern Cross Country title in 1999 and also gained an Olympic qualifying time for the 10,000 of 28.04.48 when finishing 4th in the Trial race. He also holds 5 Club records in the under 20 and under 17 age groups. National Ranking 2000, Marathon - 1st 2.11.18. 10,000m - 4th 28.04.48.
