MOSCOW UPDATE                                                                    14th July 2006

European Junior Clubs Cup – Moscow Saturday 16th September

We have now confirmed the travelling arrangements for the team to Moscow as follows. They will fly from Heathrow to Moscow by BA on Thursday 14th September at 13.05. They will return from Moscow on Sunday 17th September arriving at Heathrow at 22.10.

Accommodation will be provided in a hotel by the Moscow organisers of the event for two nights and we have asked for the cost of an extra night.

Everyone (team and supporters) has to have a Russian visa and these have to be applied for at least one month in advance, this is in addition to having a passport with at least six months left on it after the return date. The team managers Jean and Brendan have the necessary pre-visa forms, which must be returned by 31st July with a copy of your passport and two passport photographs. These forms are then sent to Moscow so that visas can be issued in London.

If supporters wish to join us on the trip then they should consider the following:

  • They must complete a visa application and return them to Jean or Brendan by 29th July.

  • Visas cost around £40 per person.

  • A number of flight options exist but we can only help if you are booking the same flights as the team.

  • Idea of costs – with team subject to availability £314.90 per person return.

  • Book individually on the internet with either BA or Aeroflot prices from £225 per return depending on dates and availability

  • Fly with Swissair changing in Zurich – flights from £157

Note the airport is about 30 miles outside of Moscow centre.

  • We will endeavour to provide a cost for accommodation at the team hotel but this may not be available. Moscow can be expensive, we have a quote for the 4 star Hotel Ukraine at around £65 per person B & B based on a 7-day stay.

  • Travel to and from the stadium will be at your own expense.

You should therefore consider that the cost of the trip is likely to be in the region of £500 – £600 if the team’s travel options are followed.

If you have already have expressed an interest in the trip please advise Jean or Brendan if you still wish to proceed as requesting a visa will require a deposit of £40 per person, whilst travel with the team will require payment of the air-fare in full by 2nd August.

You must fill in this Visa Application Form as well as this one Russian Visa Form
