October 2011 - KCAA 10m Championship, Sittingbourne
Hi guys, I was officially cleared back as 1st claim on
1st October 2011.
First race back as 1st claimer - Sittingbourne 10m
road race inc. Kent championships.
Very very hot day, won the Kent champs. Tony Crowder
and Ramon Saiz were 13th and 235th respectively.

September 2011 - SEAA Road Relays, Aldershot
Just to say thanks to Elaine Murty, Melody Kane and
Clare Parkin who ran on Saturday in the Aldershot road relays. We were 11th
team, only one place down on last year and our second highest ever placing.
Elaine ran an outstanding leg and timed 13.27 which I think is her fastest
ever at these relays and our fastest ever runner. So well done to her. Clare
and I also managed to somehow run exactly the same time which I think is
almost just as much of an achievement. And Mel had a brilliant run to keep
us up there with the other teams. All in all, a really solid performance and
thanks again to those who ran.

to everyone that competed, a solid performance from the A team with a lot of
the guys just coming back from a few weeks break or from injury, the A team
qualified for the National 6 Stage RR on Saturday 15th October & am sure we
will all be stronger & fitter by then.

September 2011 - Berlin Marathon
Scott Overall runs 2:10:55 in the Berlin Marathon
on 25 September, to take 5th place, well inside the Olympic
qualifying time of 2:12.0 - goes 2nd on our
all time
marathon list. He said: 'I couldn't believe it. When I got to
40k thought I had got the time wrong, so I was cruising on the home
straight, and when I saw the clock said 2:10 I was very surprised.
'I was on my own from halfway and think that if I had a pacemaker
possibly may have gone quicker. All in all, not a bad debut!' 25-09-11

3 July 2011 - Bewl Water 15
Great event, beautiful scenery, and a perfect summer's
day- all much appreciated by the spectators, though very hot and dusty for
the runners, especially on the long uphill stretch to the finish!
As far as I could tell, we had 2 runners this year
(apologies if I've missed anyone!): Glen Turner finished in an excellent 8th
place and Ian Montgomery in a very creditable 104th out of the 634
finishers.

We saw quite a few heathens at the BUPA 10k this
morning, most too fast for my camera though.
No results up yet but the girls team all posted very
good times.

Edinburgh Marathon
Just a quick email as I did the Edinburgh marathon
yesterday and ran for Blackheath in club kit! Came 5th in 2.24.53.
5.20 miling, through half way in 70..02 so on for
2.20, kept that pace until 17 miles and then last 8 miles into the wind!
Struggled a bit in the last 3 miles but the wind put
pay to any PB so a bit gutted as think could have done 2.20/2.21.
Try and dip under 2.20 at Berlin this September!

Having just read Peter's great result in the Edinburgh
marathon on Sunday I just wanted to let you know the club had a second
runner in the race: Ian Montgomery ran 3:31:16, coming in 1350th overall and
165th in the V45 category. Like Peter (and everyone else of course!) he
found the strong winds tough going, especially in the final few miles, but
managed to take almost 16 mins off his PB. Needless to say he was very happy
with the result!

26 March 2011 - Selsdon Half Marathon
Just to prove I am serious about uping my
distance to the full marathon next year, I completed the very hilly, low
key, Selsdon half Marathon in 2hrs 01.09. on Saturday. Finishing in 82nd
place out of 145 runners.
Thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it !
