Southern ladies team recovering post action at Crawley

2nd place in Southern League

At the time of writing no league results published yet but BBHAC finished a good second to league leaders Nene Valley at the Division 1 match at Crawley which was basked with glorious sunshine. The fixture contained the teams placed 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 6th which meant some keen competitions took place.

In the mens track events there were good A string wins for Shaun Cooke in the 200m and 400m, while Mark Cryer won the high hurdles and also the B string long jump. There were also good B string wins for Ross Braden in the 1500m, Will Ruiz in the 3000m and Tom Desborough in the steeple chase while in the field Lewis Ely win the high jump with a 1.95m seasons best , Tom French won the A string long jump, Alex Pope won the discus and Kieran Murphy the hammer in a new pb with Steve Timmins winning the B string event.

In the ladies match there was a great double for Yimika Adewakum in the 200/400m, Niamh Bridson Hubbard returning to winning ways in the 1500m running from the front, new member Ruby Woolfe led the 5000m all the way for a clear victory with Amy Leach winning the B string, and Sarah McClellan winning the 400m hurdles before competing in both relays, the high hurdles and the javelin. Ellie Barrett and Elise Swatton won both the pole vault strings, Danielle Critchley ran a new 200m pb in 26.5 in winning the B string following her 800m A string run, and Kate Purser won the B string 400m hurdles in a new pb. The ladies combined well to win the 4X400m relay easily having narrowly lost out in the sprint relay.

The 5th and final league match is next month at home in Norman Park.
