Blackheath and Bromley Harriers Women went to the SCVAC finals on Sunday 6 September as Kent champions. Unfortunately because of injury our team was reduced to 9 women and we came 6th out of 7 teams with 148 points. 1st was Epsom and Ewell - 245 points, 2nd Dartford Harriers - 197 points and 3rd Winchester and District - 188 points

Thanks to all the athletes, Jen Neal, Helen Godsell, Anne Cilia, Jackie Montgomery, Carole Penlington, Sara Elmqvist, Barbara Terry, Jennie Butler and Maz Turner who were able to cover all but 1 of the 52 events. Also a big "thank you" to Nick Nuttall and Jane Bradshaw who came for the whole day to offer physio for our team and many athletes from the other clubs.

Maz and John Turner
Team Managers

Well done to the ladies' masters team at the SVAC final - a hardy 9 team members covered all those events! Thanks to Maz & John who have been sterling team managers again this season.

4/16 August 2015 - World masters T&F Championships -  Lyon, France

Just heard from Peter Hamilton (o/65) who was 19th in the  8k xc and team silver with GB. Also 3rd in 5000m B final in 21.12.20.

Tom was lead off for the GB M60 squad who won the 4x100 relay in 48.45, and set a new British M60 record in doing so. His lead leg was described in the on-line report by Athletics Weekly as “sensational”. Sadly, they dropped that word from the printed version.

Re: World masters track and field champs, Lyon - Yet more results - this must be the last!

And a bit more B&B news from Lyon that I have just spotted:-

Helen Godsell W60
Wins Gold running on the first leg of the GB 4x400 relay. Team time 4:49.58 beating the existing W60 WR which was 4:55.53

I have found one missing B&B result plus those of yesterday and today. These are:-

Roger Michell M65
6/8 5,000m walk - 9th 29:50.12
9/8 10,000 walk, 19th 1:01:46.00
14/8 20,000 walk, 11th 2:13.31

Dave Heath M50
12/8 1,500m qualification, 1st in 6th heat in 4:17.18
14/8 1,500m Final, 1st in 4:01.54 and he won by around 15 secs!!! Also, it must be a M50 WR as the previous one was 4:05.02

Helen Godsell W60
400m
12/8 First round, 1st in heat 1, in 74.34 qualified for final
15/8 Final, 4th in 72.29

The results system is better than it was but still some events seem to be missing. If you can give me any clues as to who to look for, what age group and event I will see what I can find out.

Dave Heath, World O/50 800m Champion!

Report from Ian Wilson and photos from Debbie Marsden

Time in final 2:01.93, second was 2:04.85. As you can see from the smile on his face he was very comfortable at the end.

Time in semi 2:04.43 slowing down. It was very very hot, circa 40C.

22/28 March 2015 - European Masters Indoors - Torun, Poland

Helen Godsell and I are travelling back from the European Masters Indoors in Torun, Poland at the moment, and we're sending you a quick photo of us with our gold medals.

Helen actually won 2 golds (W60 60m and 4x200 (W60 WR time)) and 200m silver.

I was 5th in both 60m and 200m and won relay gold in 4x200 (new GB M60 record time).

Roger Michell also won a team gold in the outdoor walk.
