2017 - BMAF CC Relay - Long Eaton
After the great success of the Blackheath & Bromley
junior teams lately, it was the turn of the other end of the age spectrum to
show what they could do. At Long Eaton in Derbyshire and with conditions
tougher than previous years, the M65's retained their title in the British
Masters cross country relays. The threesome were lead off by Peter Hamilton
(13:17) who finished in a commendable 4th place in the tough opening leg
against strong opposition. He handed over to Rob Brown (13:03) who brought
the team up into 1st place. This year the team were without Bob Minting who
ran he final leg last year, but his absence was not noticed with Paul
Ross-Davies (13:14) finishing off with a fine last leg easily holding off
the challenge of Rotherham Harriers with a winning margin of 24 seconds.

The men won the match and are first overall. I hope as
many athletes as possible can compete at Gillingham on 17th July to ensure
the men's team is promoted back to 1st division.
Despite a greatly reduced women's team we have managed
to hold onto 4th position overall just 1 point below Cambridge so I am
hoping we can have a good turn out for match 6 at Gillingham and finish 3rd
overall at the end of the league.

You are all brilliant team players and the results
	prove it!
Despite our reduced ladies team we remain 3rd overall
	1 point above Cambridge.
The men won their match easily by 12 points and are in
1st position on overall points. Ashford are 2nd with same match points but 5
	less overall points.
