This event was a great days cross country. The first race at 11.00 am was for U15 boys, the remaining 9 races included relays for all age groups men and women from U13 and finishing with the senior men. Most of the best athletes in there age groups were there. Senior Men Unfortunately we had no other runners there. It was difficult to assemble a team all week with injury, illness and other commitments, but we had a team until Friday lunch time when Joe Mills twisted his ankle badly and was unable to run. When I spread this news Mike Skinner was already in Mansfield. Andrew Rayner was keen to run so decided to travel on Saturday anyway. Both ran very well. Thanks to the support team of Nick Gasson, Ken Daniel and Bill Foster all who gave grate support. Belgrave won !!!! The next race for Mike and Andrew is on Saturday the 22 November in Liverpool when they run in the next Reebok Cross Challenge race which is also the trial for the British Team in the European XC in Edinburgh on Sunday 14 December. We wish them both well and I am sure they will be please to have B&B support there. Regards Ian Wilson |
